104. Nakaggwa Florence - No Retreat. No Surrender

I’m so excited to bring you a conversation with Team Amani’s, Nakaggwa Florence @florence_nakaggwa

Back in March, she was signed to Team Amani’s gravel squad, which makes her the first female Ugandan cyclist to sign a professional cycling contract. This is history in the making and for everyone involved with the Masaka Cycling Club, this is a huge point of pride.

The Masaka Cycling Club’s purpose is to create fair and equitable opportunities for cycling talent in developing African nations and their vision is to bring global cycling together to remove barriers and fight for a more inclusive cycling community free of inequality. The Masaka Cycling Club is a launching pad to prepare talented athletes for the world’s stage, and that is what’s happening.

In this conversation, Florence speaks to the cultural stigma that girls face when it comes to riding bikes. She also drops some pretty inspirational words about living one’s best life, writing one’s own story and how hard work, no matter what you’re working for, is the path to success.

I so enjoyed speaking with Florence and hearing her story. The Masaka Cycling Club has been a huge success, and for everyone who has chipped in to this nobel project, be proud, as you’re changing people’s lives in more ways than you know.

If you would like to support this incredible project, visit the Masaka Cycling Club and learn more about how you can donate.

Enjoy!
